The Book of Deuteronomy Opens Gates

Many sources in Jewish literature shed light on the virtue of reading the Book of Deuteronomy. The most famous among them is the book "Rokeach", which explains the idea behind this virtue:

The Book of Deuteronomy was written by Moses, peace be upon him, with divine inspiration, 36 days before his passing. The book contains 955 verses, corresponding to 955 gates in the heavens, and the power of each and every verse is to penetrate and open one gate in the heavens.

Sometimes a person prays and asks the Holy One, Blessed be He, for salvation, but his gate is blocked. The power of the Book of Deuteronomy can open all the gates and pave the way from the person directly to the Holy One, Blessed be He.

Therefore, Rabbi Pinto explained, a person who is careful to read the Book of Deuteronomy on Shabbat will merit success in all his endeavors and salvation in all areas — health, livelihood, a proper spouse, children, peace in the home, and more.

And so it is in reality: thousands of miraculous stories are continuously published on social networks and various websites. Men and women alike testify that thanks to reading the Book of Deuteronomy, they witnessed salvation, blessings, and their prayers were answered.
